Cochin is an upcoming hub of activity. It has developed drastically over the recent past. The real estate prices in Cochin have shot up to great levels. Deluxe apartments in Cochin are available at Kakkanad, Vazhakkala, Chilavannoor, Ernakulam, Edapally, Vytilla, Panampilly Nagar, Marine Drive, Mamangalam-Pottakuzhy road, Jawahar Nagar and Kadavanthra. Due to higher returns on commercial property in Cochin than the returns on residential property, there is a marked increase in investments in commercial projects. Commercial properties are in great demand on Marine Drive, sections of M G Road, Chittor road and Shanmugham road. Being developed as alternatives to M G Road, the Kaloor-Kadavanthra road and Seaport Airport roads offer potential avenues for investment. Shopping mall projects have been undertaken on the Kaloor-Kadavanthra road, Manappattiparambu and Marine drive by the Greater Cochin Development Authority. In this year 6 malls are expected to open which are right now under construction. A hotel-cum-mall is expected to come up on Marine Drive while a group from Kuwait is planning to set up a hotel in Cochin.
Each builder in Cochin finds a lot of opportunities here. The infrastructure and the scenic beauty of Cochin is an added advantage.
